There is a minimum of 4 hours of care per visit and a minimum of 2 days per week of care required, to begin hourly care services. Typically a client who is resistant to care will be open to more hours of service once they experience the benefits of a Caregiver’s visits. We ask the client to commit to a regular weekly schedule, in order to staff a qualified, consistent Caregiver. It is acceptable to increase the hours after your initial start-up or decrease as long as still at least two days of four hours. We will also make available a substitute Caregiver to provide services if the regularly scheduled Caregiver is unable to fulfill an assigned shift. Each case is assigned a Case Manager to oversee this process in order to ensure the Client is satisfied and all care needs are being met.
Clients who need someone to be with them around-the-clock, and are able to allow the Caregiver to adequately sleep at night, will require a live-in Caregiver. Live-in Caregivers can work up to seven days a week and are paid a daily salary, not an hourly rate. Or a team of two Caregivers can work a seven-day shift and rotate days to provide the client with a consistent team. The client is required to provide food for the Caregiver and a place for them to sleep. The Caregiver does not actually “live” with the client. They will go to their own home between shifts. It is important for the client to be comfortable with someone sharing his or her home. This is why with us you can meet and interview the caregivers and you choose who is the best personality match. If the client’s medical condition dictates that they need the Caregiver to regularly be up with them at night, then it will be necessary to switch to around-the-clock hourly care.
